Lord, think of me and be kind, just as you are to everyone who loves your name. -Psalm 119:132 cev

When we pray, we remember God's character. We even remind Him of His character. That's what worshipping and praising look like. Telling God who He is. Not because He forgets but because we do. We remember His goodness and mercy because, sadly, its easy for us to forget.

Before we start asking for healing or deliverance or breakthrough, we begin by entering His courts with praise. This builds our faith and reminds us of how much He loves us and wants to see us set free.

One of my favorite things about God lately is His kindness. Everything I read in the Word lately reminds me that He is kind, even when my circumstances feel less than kind.

"God, think of me and be kind" is an honest beautiful prayer found in the psalms, giving us permission to pray the same thing.

Lord God, think of me and be kind.

I've watched my children many times as they humbly

I've watched my children many times as they humbly let the other kids push their way to the front, to get the best of what's offered. To be first.

Mama Bear wants to rise up and step in, but I always heed Holy Spirit who confidently puts an arm in front of me, holding me back. Steadying me. In these moments, He whispers the same thing every time.

"The meek will inherit the earth."

He seems to be ok with His kids being the last in line. Sometimes, we find ourselves the last in line too, the one overlooked or pushed aside. But I tell you the truth.

"The meek will inherit the earth."

I wonder if He's ok with this for His kids because He sees the greater riches placed in our empty hands. Treasures that cannot ever be taken.

Humility. Peace. Trust. Surrender. Kindness. Patience. Love.

The first will be last and the last, someday, will be first. Delayed gratification must be part of sanctification.

This is how it looks when the meek inherit the earth. And some day, on the other side of heaven, we'll get a real sense of these gems that are unseen to us now.

Can you trust Him today with being pushed aside by striving people? Can you trust Him that greater gifts are coming or are even being given that very moment?

I don't pretend its easy. I don't pretend that I don't cry when it continues to happen to me or my kids. But I also don't pretend to fully understand my lot, trusting that someday...

Searching for shells is my new favorite thing. Purple, orange, and blue. It's a touchable experience of what it's like to search for wisdom and goodness and words of knowledge. The waves surprise and refresh when they crash in and splash up. It's a tangible picture of Holy Spirit.

I will declare the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
