Candid Helpful Resources for Grief and Loss

Yesterday, we answered the question, “What can I do to help someone who is grieving?”
I mentioned I’ve been emailing with a friend, Dr. Sarah Philpott. She’s the author of Loved Baby, a beautiful resource for moms who have lost a child in pregnancy. She asked how she can help her friend so I shared some practical action steps you can do to help.
Then she asked me a follow up question:
“What resources can I send my friend? I can’t wait to gift her your book.”
To be honest, I wasn’t in love with most resources I found on grief. Not all of them, but many were either clinical or technical or kind of out there. I wanted someone to talk me through all my big emotions and swirling questions like, “Am I freaking crazy?!” and “Are we going to survive this??”
I wanted an authentic conversation with emotionally intelligent questions and white space to let me process things in my own way on my own time.
That said, I personally just leaned into prayer. In my time with God, during a very isolating season, I found Him to be my Wonderful Counselor and the Friend I needed.
Out of that prayer time, I just created the kind of resources for others that I wish I had. I felt like He wanted me to share with others from the time I had with Him in that season.
Below you’ll find some of my current resources. There are more to come, as the Lord has given me some amazing downloads, visions, and ideas. Make sure you sign up for my mailing list, and I’ll keep you posted on those.
Grief Resources:
- Because grief is so disorienting and isolating, I have created a very simple but game-changing Grief Guide. Your friend can find the Grief Guide here.
- Free until March 1, 2022, I have some unique resources available, including scripture artwork, as pre-order bonuses here at www.WhenMountainsCrumble.com. For you, there’s also a free PDF of How to Help Your Grieving Friend: The Companion’s Guide available there and The Grief Gift Giving Guide.
- In the next few weeks, (end of February to beginning of March 2022) I will also be offering about 3-4 weeks of The Fellowship of the Brokenhearted. This will be a gentle, peaceful time of prayer and grief doodling sessions. Your friend may really enjoy popping in on those zoom calls, even if just to listen in and know she’s not alone.
“Weep with those who weep.”
Romans 12:15
Father, You are our Comforter. Many people I know and love are grieving. I lift them to you by name and ask you to wrap your arms around them. Give them hope and courage and comfort and peace. And show me what I can do to support them. In Jesus’s name, amen

Sarah had a chance to read my book already. While I’m introducing her to you, I also wanted to share what she has to say about the book…
